About Celtic Maritime Connections

Celtic maritime Connections is an Interreg IIIA European funded project, and is a collaboration of:

The Milford Haven Port Authority,

Pembrokeshire College MITEC,

The West Wales Maritime Heritage Society,

The John F Kennedy Trust of New Ross County Wexford.

Our aim is to rediscover our historic Maritime past and create a shared Maritime Heritage experience, with links all over the world.

The West Wales Maritime Heritage Society is the only one of its kind in Wales, it is run with the energy and enthusiasm of a group of volunteers who are foresighted enough to realise that without their intervention, we will lose that Maritime history that has at some time affected all of our family’s past.

Celtic Maritime Connections would encourage anyone with even a distant interest in Maritime Heritage, whether it is because a Great Grand Parent who was a sea captain, or because you've wondered about the remains of a long forgotten wreck in some quiet creek. Maybe you have an old boat at the bottom of your garden, contact us or the society.

The Celtic Maritime Connections Project is interested in developing links to all areas of Pembrokeshire to map and capture the stories, the people and the ships that plied our coastline.
