Maritime Heritage - Ships

Celtic maritime Connections are pleased to be associated with the following Heritage Vessels Tall Ships and Classic Boats.

The owners of these Vessels are entrusted with caring for our Maritime Heritage.

In past history these ships plied their trade around our coasts, earning their keep and working as part of their own commercial enterprises.

Today, in a time when these traders have been superseded by road transport and modern technology, they have all but died out.

These solitary survivors of our long tradition with the Sea continue to struggle to survive to keep alive the memories, the traditions and the history for our children.

Without them we will only be left with photographs and stories, but their existence is so fragile that their loss is but a struggle away.

We desperately need a Maritime Heritage Trust in this country that understands the importance of these ships and the need to preserve them in the environment for which they were built.

As a Seafaring Nation surely the importance of funding our heritage vessels is as important as funding our country residences.

I would be glad of comments on the Forum pages of this site and I would be delighted if you all joined me in the struggle to assist these keepers of our heritage alive.

Is there a vessel that we haven't yet mentioned here?

Contact me,Richard James and we will be happy to add your details and provide our support
